wouldnt it be nice
so my work assignment is helping out at the ulpan. basically, today i cleaned the three ulpan dorms- mop the floors and clean the bathrooms. i also get to help fold and sort the laundry and help corrin go shopping if we go on a trip or something. i work from 8-12, which is really nice cause its not that long. but i do have to work helping set up dinner and helping clean up. its not the most glamorous job, but it is bearable. i wish i could do something that interacts more with the other kibbutzniks. but its not too bad. and its only the first day. now i'm waiting for ari to get back here so i can get couponim and go to the store.

8-12 at night? Wow. Anyway, what happened with the film and the kindergarten thing? I thought they were gonna try to give you that? What do the other kids do? Do you even read these comments?
ReplyDeleteOk, never mind. I see you do read them. I just didn't know you responded via other comment, but I figured it out now.
ReplyDeleteWeek from Hell? Well, let's see. 1) I can think of at least 4 celebrities that have died this week. 2) I severely burned myself (to the point where it turned black and pussed) and rammed my leg into the seat of a subway car, so I have a huge black and blue mark on my leg. 3) I have terrible cramps. 4) Jessica's dad had a heart attack. 5) Jessia burned herself. 6) I really lost my cool with a coworker and bitched her out (though it felt good). 7) I sat in the rain for an hour hoping Twelfth Night would go on, but it didn't (though I did get to see it 3 days later, and it was fantastic).
And don't take all my things too seriously. I know you're busy and the internet probably isn't great and you're tired and all that. I did see your pics on facebook. So it's cool.
Love you.
Hannah
Oh, and Jessica's dad is fine, in case you were wondering. And if you see this before tomorrow night our time, it's Momma and Daddy's 23rd anniversary. You could send them a ecard or something, if you do get this.
ReplyDeleteRe your wanting to interact with the kibbutzniks: That's a great idea. Let as many people in charge of your program know this and it might happen. When I worked on Kibbutz Ein Gev in 1991, I told our liaison person the same thing and I got to meet several of the permanent residents and got invited to their homes. They want to meet you, also, and responded enthusiastically when I said I wanted to learn more about life on the kibbutz. I also asked to work in the dining room washing dishes because I knew I would meet a lot of the locals there. Love, Zayde
